About Eduardo Bribiesca

Eduardo Bribiesca was born and raised in Mexico City. After studying music in the Conservatorio Nacional de Música de la Ciudad de México and in the Escuela de Laudería, he is introduced into the magic world of pipe organ building by Felipe Ramírez Ramírez, head organist of the Catedral Metropolitana de la Ciudad de México. In 1982 at the age of 18 and with the knowhow passed on to him by Ramírez Ramírez, Bribiesca establishes himself as an organ builder with the construction of his first portable organ.

In 1996, with now more than 20 organs restored and 3 built, he is invited to work in the workshop of the prestigious Spanish organ builder Federico Acitores Cabezudo in Torquemada, Palencia, Spain. There he masters the building of positive rectangular chest organs and 1 to 3 manual study organs.

Mexican Style Organ

Settled today in Spain, Eduardo Bribiesca is devoted to rediscovering and bringing back to life the ancient and artistic roots of the Mexican organ in all its forms, from its myriad of sounds to its intricacy of decoration. Bribiesca indeed plays, at this moment in time, a unique role as the only active Mexican organ builder in the world.
